Inspired by her father, a Vietnam Era fighter pilot, all Flash wanted from a young age was to be a fighter pilot, just like her Dad. However, at the time women were not allowed to serve in combat roles in the U.S Military. In 1993, the law changed, women could serve shoulder to shoulder with their male colleagues and Flash was one of the first females to be recruited outside the USAF to be a fighter pilot (despite her five speeding tickets, she had speed in her DNA!), finally fulfilling her childhood dream.
She served on four combat operations and was one of the few pilots, and one of only two women, to launch into the confusion and chaos that was 9/11 to protect the nation. A mission she was willing to sacrifice her life for, to protect the citizens of her country. She served in multiple Command and Leadership positions until her honourable discharge as one of America’s first female fighter pilots as a one-star General!
Flash continues to embrace the fighter pilot mindset through her work as a Whitehouse Fellowship, an MBA Graduate and her work with hundreds of companies as an Executive Partner with Afterburner, helping companies deliver on their strategy. She is a leader, a fighter pilot, an executive and above all else, a genuine American heroine.
