Cherie DeVaux went out on her own in the spring of 2018 after spending nearly eight years as an assistant to Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown. Prior to working for Brown, she spent five years working for trainer Chuck Simon.
Her stable has grown and moved up the ranks at a fast pace. In just 8 plus years Devaux’s horses have had 1,807 starts hitting the board 782 times including 299 1st place finishes earning $36,422,804. In 2026, Devaux became the first woman trainer ever to win the Kentucky Derby with Golden Tempo. In 2024 she won the 2024 Breeder’s Cup Mile World Championship with VRP’s own More Than Looks. 2024 was Devaux’s best year to date earning $10,235,322. Through May 2, 2025 Devaux has already earned $5,585,140.
DeVaux is married to bloodstock agent David Ingordo.
