Rivers is seventh on the NBA’s all-time wins list for head coaches. The 1999-00 NBA Coach of the Year, Rivers, was named one of the 15 Greatest Coaches in NBA history.
Leading the Boston Celtics to an NBA Championship in 2008 and another NBA Finals appearance in 2010, Rivers began his head coaching career with the Orlando Magic from 1999-03 and has since served as head coach of the Celtics (2004-13), Los Angeles Clippers (2013-20) and Philadelphia 76ers (2020-23).
A native of Chicago and product of Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, Rivers played and graduated from Marquette University.
